Indian Chai Tea, from the Portland Oregonian, c. 1990 * 4 green cardamom pods * 1 c water * 1 slice fresh ginger, about 1/4: thick * 2 black tea bags * 1/2 c nonfat milk * 2 tblsp honey Lightly crush cardamom pods. Bring water, cardamom pods and ginger to boil in small saucepan. Reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes. Add tea bags, stir in milk and heat tea to simmer. Stir in honey and strain into a cup. Serve warm or iced.
