==== Shrimp with Holy Basil ==== //kung pad krapow// This recipe can be adapted by substituting pork or chicken for the shrimp, but the meat should be very finely chopped or coarsely ground. * 2 tablespoons oil * 2 garlic cloves, finely chopped * 2 small fresh red or green chilies, finely chopped * 6-8 raw jumbo shrimp, peeled and deveined I medium onion, cut in half and roughly sliced 2 tablespoons fish sauce * 1 tablespoon light soy sauce * 1 teaspoon sugar * 20 holy basil leaves - In a wok or frying pan, heat the oil and fry the garlic and chilies, stirring well, until the garlic begins to brown. - If using a protein other than shrimp, add and cook for 3-5 minutes before adding remaining ingredients. - If using shrimp, add them and stir, then quickly add the remaining ingredients, mixing well. - Cook until the shrimp are opaque and cooked through. Turn onto a serving dish and serve. Preparation time: 5 minutes Cooking time: 10 minutes (a little longer for mammal meat)
