Beef with Asparagus and Oyster Sauce

  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • 6 ounces beef, thinly sliced (about 3/4 cup)
  • 6 ounces young thin asparagus (or any other crunchy vegetable such as broccoli), chopped into 2-inch lengths (about 1 1/2-2 cups)
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon fish sauce
  • ½ teaspoon sugar
  • ½ teaspoon ground white pepper
  1. In a wok or frying pan, heat the oil and fry the garlic until golden brown.
  2. Stirring constantly, add each of the remaining ingredients one at a time, stirring well between each addition.
  3. When the beef is cooked, turn onto a serving dish and serve.
