Beef with Asparagus and Oyster Sauce
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
- 6 ounces beef, thinly sliced (about 3/4 cup)
- 6 ounces young thin asparagus (or any other crunchy vegetable such as broccoli), chopped into 2-inch lengths (about 1 1/2-2 cups)
- 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon fish sauce
- ½ teaspoon sugar
- ½ teaspoon ground white pepper
- In a wok or frying pan, heat the oil and fry the garlic until golden brown.
- Stirring constantly, add each of the remaining ingredients one at a time, stirring well between each addition.
- When the beef is cooked, turn onto a serving dish and serve.
