Orange Beef
Start your rice!
Ingredients
- beef top sirloin, thinly sliced
- 3 tblsp white sugar (could be less, might be fab with coconut sugar)
- 1/3 cup rice wine vinegar
- 2 oz fresh squeezed orange juice
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tblsp cornstarch
- 3 tablespoons grated fresh ginger
- 1 ½ tablespoons minced garlic
- 2 teaspoons orange zest, if you have more, great, if you have kumquats, thinly slice 2-3
- broccoli or cauliflower florets, cut up small
- 2-4 scallions, cut into 1“ long pieces.
Directions
- Mix together sugar, rice vinegar, orange juice, corn starch, soy sauce, and salt in a small bowl. Set aside.
- Heat oil in a wok over medium-high heat. Fry beef in hot oil in small batches for 3 minutes.
- Add ginger, garlic, and orange zest to beef in wok. Cook and stir briefly until fragrant. Pour in soy sauce mixture; bring to a boil and add broccoli or cauliflower, Cook until thick and syrupy, about 5 minutes. About a minute from the end, add the scallions.
